About
My name is Marcella Ruland, and I teach at Glenelg High School in Glenelg Maryland. I teach Advanced Placement US History, US History G/T, Advanced Placement World History, and Modern World History Honors. I am the adviser for the National Honor Society, and have previously served as the Mock Trial coach and the Model UN adviser.
I come to teaching after a career as a Navy Cryptologic Officer. I have been stationed in Hawaii, Iceland, Washington DC and Maryland. Since my father was also in the Navy, I have lived all over the US. Both my former career and my travels enrich my classroom stories.
I have been using computers in one way or another since the 6th grade — and we will NOT say how long ago that was! I have been an enthusiastic user of technology in the classroom and am excited by the various web 2.0 opportunities.
